Worldwide access to company data makes iPhone suitable for business use

Cologne, 26 January 2009 – Parallel to Lotusphere 2009, Cologne IT service provider ebf GmbH is presenting an iPhone version of its ebf.connector application. With immediate effect this client-server solution connects the iPhone with a variety of data sources, such as IBM Lotus Notes, SAP, Microsoft Exchange, MS Sharepoint or SQL databases like MS-SQL, mySql or Oracle for example.

The ebf.connector software is already in use for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile and enables mobile access to data from almost any data source. The iPhone application, which is available directly from the iTunes AppStore, interacts with the required databases or CRM program via a server. Whether address details, order statuses or urgent requests, an infinite number of application examples can be created for your company through the flexible handling of different data sources.

Marco Föllmer, Managing Director of ebf GmbH, is speaking from his own experience when he says: “It is mainly managers, project managers or sales representatives who are often away on business and who need to be able to check their current database at all times and edit it decentrally who will profit from the iPhone version of ebf.connector.“ Föllmer is delighted that ebf has succeeded in making the cult iPhone fit for business-relevant applications. The ebf.connector can be used simultaneously as platform-independent software for the iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile.
